Deep Marsh
The Deep Marsh zone experiences regular or prolonged inundation, with water depths generally deeper than the shallow marsh but not fully open water.
Plants in this zone are robust emergent species capable of tolerating fluctuating water levels and periodic drying. Typical vegetation includes tall sedges and rushes from the Cyperaceae and Juncaceae families, such as Schoenoplectus, Baumea, Carex, and Juncus providing strong structural and filtration functions.
